Some of my rescue hens, I get them from an organisation that takes on the rescue hens that get disposed of, from the egg producing factories, once they get to about 18 mths to 2 years old they are useless to the industry. I have had about 20 over the last few years, they have a fantastic life for a few years forging and free ranging as they should over a wide area. They still produce eggs, and these are given to the foxes and badgers and the dogs have an occasional egg for dinner too.
